Description
Skógafoss plummets over sheer cliffs that long ago marked the land's end in this island country. Almost 60 metres tall – and about half as wide when flowing its hardest – the massive cascade roars where Iceland's coast once dropped straight off into the ocean. The coastline receded long ago, stranding the glacier -fed fall about 3 miles inland. Now it's a popular stop on Iceland's Ring Road , thanks partly to pop culture appearances in 'Game of Thrones' and the 'Thor' franchise.
