Description
Though it's not the tallest of the Alps or the most technical climb, this Swiss-Italian peak is one of the most famous mountains in the world. Between its jagged 14,692-foot summit and the Disneyland ride it inspired, the Matterhorn strikes fear and awe into people from all over the world, daring mountaineers and small children alike. Here we see the great stone pyramid from the Switzerland side, reflected in Stellisee—the first and largest lake encountered along the Five Lakes Trail in Zermatt.
