Description
Nestled in a dense Alpine forest and mainly accessible by foot or bike, Crestasee (aka Lake Cresta) is one of Switzerland's hidden gems. Its glassy waters shift between shades of emerald and turquoise depending on the light, mirroring the sky and surrounding evergreen forest. Most of Crestasee's water supply comes from underground sources—as is the case with many lakes in this region, where water flow was reshaped by the Flims rockslide about 10,000 years ago.
